Shopping: Hidden Gems to find Unique Items

So I wanted to start a thread for those of us in the DMV area to share our hidden gems. You know the places where we find hard to find items, items only made by that store, or things you use Amazon for but would rather not pay the shipping. lol

So I found Strianese San Marzano tomatoes at the Meat Locker on the corner of Pickett and Little River Turnpike in Fairfax. I had been using Cento because the shipping cost of tomatoes is outrageous. lol But the Strianese tomatoes taste like sunshine in a can. I can't detect a tinny taste in the tomatoes and have used them raw straight out of the can. I pureed them, added a little basil, salt and pepper, olive oil and viola, you have a quick raw tomato sauce. I normally use fresh tomatoes, but these canned ones can be subbed in. Which is a LIFE SAVER. So they are $3-$4 a can at the Meat Locker. Not sure if people are into their own butcher, but I also like the Meat Locker better than the Red Apron up the street.

Anyway, what's your secret place? Secret ingredient? Hidden Gem? Unique eats item?
