shopping for dried fish - bonito and salt cod

I am currently trying to learn Japanese and Portugeuse cooking. This seems to, for each cuisine, involve laying my hands on some high quality dried fish - whole bonito, to flake for dashi, and good salt cod.

I cannot find either. Bonito I can only find pre-flaked. Salt cod I have failed to find. Any suggestions?
