Made my first shoo-fly pie last night, and it was a disaster! Somehow there must have been a tear or leak in the bottom crust, so the molasses mixture leaked down under the crust and sort of boiled the crust from the outside. it became this kind of molten-sugar lava thing,with a really lumpy-bumpy, streusel-y looking top, and although I've never seen a shoo-fly pie before, I don't think it's supposed to look like what I got. Alas! But I'm going to try again, using the Pie and Pastry Bible recipe this time. Has anyone tried that recipe?
