On Shmingrid's hearty recco of a while ago, I tried this place a couple of nights ago. I had ventured into a new L&L branch in Long Beach over the weekend, so I was in the mood for a comparison. I ordered the regular (as opposed to mini - a smaller "snack" portion) curry chicken katsu plate lunch, a generous serving of crisply breaded breast meat, served alongside a very S&B-tasting (not a bad thing, mind you) yellow curry with carrots and taters. The crisp integrity of the katsu made for easy dipping, and I just drowned the my rice scoop with the remainder. Of special note was the mac salad, thankfully on the savory side. I dislike sweet flavors in tater & pasta salads, and this was a winner in my book. A generous fill for about $6.50 with tax. L&L was merely ok by comparison; my money would go to Waikiki on a more regular basis.
