A coupon lured my s.o. and me to a place called Shiraz on the border of Sherman Oaks and Encino. Nice little Persian place with lots of Persian diners. My fesenjon (moist chicken in a rich ground walnut and pomegranate sludge) was particularly good, and plentiful. We ended up taking most of it home and enjoying it the following night. The menu is heavy on kabobs. Some intriguing specials too, including a chicken dish involving sour cherries. Next time perhaps. Did I mention it is quite reasonable (with or without a coupon)? So long as we're on the subject of Sherman Oaks eateries, I am interested in any non-obvious winners. We are regulars at Zankoum, D'Amores Pizza Connection and Carnaval. But I'd like to expand the horizons. Thank you much.
