Tried them for the first time tonight. I'd seen them in the grocery for a while. They come in liquid in a plastic sack with an OU that is sold refrigerated. Because they say "tofu" I thought that they were a veggie protein substitute, but it turns out that They are for people on gluten-free or reducing diets. They have 40 calories in an 8oz. bag that makes a side dish for 2 people or a main course for one.
Eating them felt like eating noodles. You could put any pasta sauce over them.
I make a stir-fry, a dab of sesame oil sauteed with onion and ginger, then Napa cabbage and a red pepper with a sauce made form soy sauce, rice vinegar and a dab of honey. I just rinsed them in hot water in a colander, rinsed them and stirred them into the hot vegetables. It was very good.
I'll probably be hungry again in an hour....
