Shipping Caviar abroad

Mimi | Aug 10, 2004 11:16 AM

I'm getting married in St. Barts in the caribbean and the place where I'm having my reception said I could ship/send/bring caviar down myself and they would serve it for me for a nominal fee, rather than pay the absurd prices that they would have to charge me if I used their caviar.
Obviously, the easiest thing to do would be to ship it down to the restaurant. I've gone to a few websites and made a few phonecalls and I can't find anyone who will mailorder it to an address outside of the US.
I have no problem packing it on dry ice and bringing it down myself, but does anyone know if that is legal to transport caviar across borders? I would just die if it got confiscated at the airport.
