how to ship a pineapple upside-down cake?

ok fellow hounds, i need your help.

a friend wants to send one of her fresh-baked pineapple-upside down cakes to someone [obviously via overnight shipping], but can't figure out how to package it to keep the cake from getting mushed/destroyed in transit. remember, there is an exposed layer of pineapple on one side. we've agonized over this. how can she wrap or box it to send?

anyone ever tried this before?

is it even possible to do it without freezing the cake first?

i've tried to think of solutions for her, but i'm at a loss...
