I need a bottle of Sherry Wine Vinegar. My supermarket didn't offer any. Amazon (link below)has several but they seem quite pricey to me but ,then again, I know little about this vinegar. The bottle I'm replacing is Capirete brand "Vinagre de Jerez DOP". I like it and it was inexpensive (currently about $5.00 for 375ml, 12.7oz.) but I don't know where to find it. The offerings on Amazon are much more expensive but they use words like "Riserva", "50 years". Are there big differences in quality, like with real balsamic vinegar, or are these just marketing terms? I'd be amenable to paying these higher prices to get better quality, especially since I use very little of this type, although yesterday I used it in a salad with garden tomatoes, cukes, red onion, mozzarella and red pepper and herbs from our garden. It worked very well in this mix. What do you use sherry vinegar for? Does California produce good quality? Where can I buy it online or brick and mortar? I have Trader Joes, Whole Foods nearby and Fairway a bit further down the road. Thanks!
