This week through Sunday is Sherry Week at Jaleo, with a special menu featuring a one ounce pour of sherry paired with each dish.
I tried only the dessert from this menu, but it was so outrageously great that I am thinking of going back tomorrow night to try a couple of other dishes.
The dessert was a sherry-cherry granita with a slew of part-frozen cherries on top. Underneath was a chocolate cream (like a stiff mousse) and above was a scoop of olive oil yogurt ice cream.
The cherries were tart, the chocolate bitter, and the ice cream tangy. All were sinfully rich. It felt so good to be alive. An amazing and ample concoction that two people could share (and fight over) for $11 Including the sherry.
