My grandmother is turning 100 (yes, you read that right) in May. We'd like to throw her a small gathering, around 20 people at most, as close to her apartment as possible, which is on Batchelder Street between Avenues Y and Z. Somewhere on the bay would be ok.
We need to keep her close, since she's somewhat frail and while she can walk with assistance, it does tire her out to be moving around too much. We'd just cater into her apartment, but it's a small studio and there are several small rambunctious children who will be there. A bit unnerving in a small space to say the least.
As far as the food is concerned, she isn't big on spicy food, other than chinese (which she adores). Basic american where she can get a good piece of fish or chicken is a good choice too. If there is a small room to rent, all the better. Cost doesn't matter.
None of us are from the area to know where to eat, although we know Brooklyn pretty well streetwise.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
