Sheboygan Style Finishing Sauce for Brats and Burgers?

Someone told me that grilled brats and hamburgers are treated with a "finishing sauce" of beer and butter. Is this true, and if so, what are the proportions and any other ingredients to the sauce and how is the meat cooked and how long in the sauce -- is it just simmered for a 15 minute period or boiled or what? Thanks!
