New place opened on Watertown/Belmont line called Shangri-La. On Belmont street three blocks west of the Star Market on Mt. Auburn.
Lots of unique non-standard dishes. Funky tofu dishes. Dried abalone and Napa, nice steamed pork buns. While we were there, twice we saw a Chinese couple that had driven all the way from Hopkington for dinner.
Every dish is different, authentic, and not too challenging to the American palet, unless of course you go for the pigs blood, or tripe.
Really excellent food, and one of the better Chinese places in Boston.
