Shangri-La, Belmont - a crowd pleaser

Five of us – 3 adventurous hounds and 2 unadventurous pups – went to Shangri-la last night. One thing that has not been mentioned in the previous posts I have read about the place is that it works for both types of eaters. The kids were very happy with spring rolls, scallion pancakes, egg drop soup and veggie mu shi (all of which we thought were the best versions we had ever tasted of each dish). The growns were ecstatic with fried turnip cake, jelly fish salad, jumbo meatballs with baby bok choy, and whole fish with spicy sauce, all of which were divine. It’s the first time both groups have been equally happy with a Chinese restaurant and we have all agreed that knowing about it will significantly reduce the negotiations about where to go when we want Chinese.

149 Belmont Avenue, Belmont (near Cambridge line, next door to Eastern Lamejun).
