Anyone eat here yet? On 40th Road just off of Main Street. Have not seen anything posted about this place - they say they have been open eight months. Now to the nomenclature.
Top two characters announce Heron Island - 鷺島 Lùdǎo.
Then we have Local Flavor Shop - 風味館 Fēngwèiguǎn.
The smaller rectangular sign as well as their paper menu reads Shanghai Night Market Snacks 夜上海小吃 Yè Shànghǎi xiǎochī.
And to complete the confusion: Yun s Restaurant!
They offer twenty Shanghai style dishes served in noodles or over rice with a few non-Shanghainese items like Tripe, Singapore Fried Rice, Lamb Soup and Fried Chicken Wings. Prices range from $4.50 to $10 tops. 48 snack items in all.
Interestingly, they are serving four red wine lee dishes (#39-42) called “wine and grain." Dishes like Pickled Pig Feet with Wine and Grain. Also: #40 Chicken Feet, #41 Green Soybean and #42 Pork Tongue. Red wine lees are not just confined to Fujian food anymore.
