Shanghai 1930 report

Went to Shanghai 1930 last week with a group of eight. We ordered about 12 different dishes to sample a variety. I'd been to Shanghai 1930 a few times before and was lukewarm on the food. This time, everything we got I can only explain as boring and flavorless. Even the wine list by the glass is a snoozer. We ordered several prawn dishes -- salt-n-pepper prawns, hot-n-spicy prawns, others, and they all had no spice! Fish fried with kelp was like day-old tempura, served room tempurature. Even a simple dish like pea shoots was bland. Why all the hype?

Oh, we did see a pregnant woman wonder by our table a few times, several at the table swore it was Joan Chen.
