so my so and i were waiting for a table the other night at this little lebanese restaurant on westwood and just couldn't wait anymore so we walked up to shamshiri grill where i had eaten before and wasn't thrilled but we were famished. nice looking room but that is about the only good thing i can say about this place.
the waitress i think might have been 14 yrs old and was completely unaware of what service is. when we went to order an appetizer of hummous at 8:50pm on a friday night she said they just ran out. ran out of humous at a persian restaurant? a little odd. we ordered a chicken and a beef shawarma plate so we could share. they started us with our choice of salads. we picked the sharizi, which was a large bowl of diced up cucumbers, onions and tomatos smothered in parsley and drowning in a lemony dressing, yuck! then our plates came, the chicken shawarma was bland, i couldn't believ it, the whole idea of it is the seasoning and the beef was riddled with fat.
needless to say, it was not an ideal meal. next time i'll wait the extra ten minutes to get the table at the whole in the wall sunnin which i hear is worth it.
