Went to Sham last night with a group of 4 and had a long, leisurely meal. The whole time we were there, only one other table sat down. Now, the food was pretty spectacular, although the veggie options were a bigger hit than the meat (although the mahi mahi and chicken kabobs went over well), so why is this place perpetually empty?
Last night I loved the baba ganoush which, as has been pointed out before on Chowhound, is what Lebanese places usually call moutabal; loved the labneh; loved the pita; loved the hummus; and really loved the lentil soup, especially with a hefty squeeze of fresh lemon.
Although I have heard it described as Ali Baba designed for a cheap TV show, I even like the tiled decor. So, great food, low prices and interesting atmosphere that belies its location near a lot of auto dealers - why is this place not packed?
