Not to start a fight on this board, but I went to Shake Shack for the second time yesterday and confirmed my belief that it is completly not worth the wait and hardly better than Wendys. I had erroneously assumed that my first dissapointment was due to a cloudy day in Madison Square Park last year - I was wrong. On a gorgeous sunny day my gf and I forged through the 45 minute line and 10 minute wait for our food with great anticipation. A concrete, with so many hounds singing its praises must be fantastic I thought. A double shack burger how could it taste like fast food, they bombastically proclaim on their FAQ "we are not fast food". But low and behold neither was special neither was fantastic; in fact I think Mr. Meyer may have modeled his menu and taste after Dairy Queen!
Never again will I wait on that line, never again will I sit in the hallowed "shake shack" barriers, for my money I'd rather bring a Lennys sandwich into the park and play chess with my gf than stand on that line for an uninspired burger - his veil of making people believe high prices for wholesome food makes it better continues.
