A major Indian food authority (I won't say who, 'cuz it'd be wrong to publicly air a privately delivered opinion) tells me that Shaheen, across the street from Sajna (which is at 72-08 Broadway), makes the best kabob/naan in America.
I'm somewhat afraid to go, because they've been closed twice in the past year by the board of health (every inch of the kitchen's now visible to customers in a desperate attempt to live that down). But I'm passing on the info FYI.
If Jackson Heights is going to see a renaissance of South Asian cooking, I'd be delighted beyond belief to have my gloomy outlook proved wrong!
