Four hounds and the honorary C. went to Ristorante Ideale Friday night. Having been there the night before for dessert (post L'Osteria del Forno), the staff recognized us and greeted us as if we were old friends.
-a special antipasto plate with a slice of burrata, grilled eggplant, fennel, olives, speck, and a wonderful cheese I don't remember the name of (Windy, help?).
-fennel and orange salad
-beef cannelloni (a special)
-orrechiette with broccoli rabe
-ravioli di zucca
-pizza with prosciutto and arugula
-ordered lamb but never received it (I hope we weren't charged...)
No dessert since we weren't that impressed with them the night before.
Wines: ed brought a bottle of 1998 Taltarini Shiraz (yum) and we ordered a bottle of Regaleali Nero d'Avola ($30), forgot to write the year.
We had a 10% off coupon which I completely forgot to use (bad Lisa!). (You can get it at: sftravelcoupons.com). $180 (with tip). I will let the others comment before adding my own 500 lire on the food.
I would have to say that the service was the best part. They are all-from the owner, Maurizio, to the bus staff-very warm and inviting. I would guess a young, blond woman would probably receive a little too much attention....They gave us all a complimentary shot of limoncello with the check.
