SF Hound + Daughter = 2 days in NY= LONG POST

Hello all. I have been lurking trying to see how you work over here. You seem to obsess over pizza and hamburgers the way we in SF do over tacos and xiao long bao:).

Anyway, I am bringing my 18-year old daughter to NY for 2 days before dropping her off at college. I have lived in Manhattan, but sadly not for 20 years. She will be happiest eating fish, chicken, pasta. I am happy eating anything but organ meats and game. Since we live in the Bay Area, we don't need to explore Chinese or Mexican. She's not a huge pizza fan per se.

We are staying in the Meatpacking District(!), and will be seeing a show each night we are in town and of course shopping the rest of the time. D loves the New York "scene" in the way that most 18 year olds do. I confess so do I, from celebrity-gazing to artists in black to regular people.

From reading this board I have a list of possible dinners and lunches.

Hearth
Inoteca
Red Cat
Blue Ribbon Bakery
Pastis
Aquagrill
Babbos
Marseilles
Otto
Kittichai
Spice Garden

Some places the reservation window may be past. I put myself in your hands. What would you do if you were us?

Thanks in advance. And BTW, if you come to SF, there's great Shanghainese/Taiwanese food in of all places, Foster City!
