SF Chow come to Town- Bouley vs Babbo

bandit redux | Mar 24, 2005 11:25 AM

OK, so I posted a message last week or so and now have a tricky situation on my hands !! Two reservations for the same night, our last night ! I really wish we could do both :(

Bouley vs Babbo- which is somewhat an apples/oranges similar to the Babbo vs Daniel discussion earlier on this board.

I hate to give up Bouley but it *seems* to me that Babbo might be the way to go because:
a) Fancy Le Bernadine the night before
b) Babbo is more a NY experience than Bouley
c) we won't have to drag ourselves back to mid-town to get really dressed up for dinner, if we go to Babbo its less formal
d) babbo is harder to get a reservation- which sometimes can be an indication??

BUT we might want to do Bouley because
a) no matter where you live, Bouley is better food
b) babbo seems like it might be really noisy and lots of attitude ??
c) Bouley is in a different areaa than Washington Park, which we will be at during the day

I know its really not an equal comparison and everyone has their own slant on preferences but if any of my assumptions or opinions above can be either validated or not, that would help me make the decision. I am looking at the menus and just can't decide. I wish it wasn't a surprise for my gf but alas I think the surprise factor will be worth the short lived agony of having the fortune to decide between 2 very excellent places to eat...

Thank you again !!
