What are you serving for Sukkot?

levial | Sep 28, 2004 02:06 PM

Hi-

Husband is Yemenite, so Yemenite soup is on the menu...but I used to like making Butternut squash soup (as many Sukkots are chilly in Cleveland!)

Zucchini Kugel of course...just feel like I've run out of ideas.

New tradition is Sukkah Surprise...My husband once made shakshukah (eggs, veggies...from the Israeli army I guess) and added Veggie Burger pieces and since shakshukah rhymes with Sukkah I called it Shaksukkah, but then decided on a more Americanized "Sukkah surprise" - that's also a nice easy hot dish....

What are you having? Any ideas are appreciated.
