Service at Legal Seafood

Coyote | Nov 16, 2002 01:02 PM

Had to be at the Burlington Mall today at about twelve, and decided Legal Seafood would do for lunch. Must say we were pleasantly surprised--particularly by the excellent service. Our waiter, Barry, was friendly and funny without being intrusive. More importantly, he was patient with our indecisiveness, said fish in the fish and chips be ordered half spicy and half plain when we couldn't choose, offered to mix the fries and onion rings instead of making us opt for just one. He seemed to take a genuine interest in what we thought of the meal. In a busy place, with tables close together, he managed to be there with more rolls and water and the check at the moment we decided we wanted it.

The clam chowder held some whopping big clam pieces, and happens to the style I prefer--creamy and without that big hit of bacon flavor which can overwhelm. The fish kind of fell apart into little bits, and the fries were better than the onion rings, but the servings were large and the experience overall was just fine.
