Restaurants & Bars 4

no service at Bravo

A friend and I saw the Deco exhibit at the MFA last nite and wanted to get one of Bravo's "deco cocktails" and an appetizer. We told the maitre d' that we'd check out the bar which only had 6 seats but we grabbed a table for 2 in the lounge, between a party of 2 and one of 4. Sat there for a while looking at the deco cocktail list (things like sidecars, singapore sling, etc) and both wondered at the same time if we had to go to the bar to place an order but right then, the woman bartending came to the party of 2 to take their money. We figured she'd come over to us when she brought change but no. I then walked over to the maitre d' to get a food menu, then the waitress/bartender brought menus to a party of 3 that came after us and were seated in the far side of the lounge. Okay. Another waitress checked on the party of 4 and I asked her if we could order and she said our server would be right with us. Ha. No one came so we left and I told the maitre d' it would have been nice if someoneo had waited on us. It was definitely like the bartender was purposely ignoring us and we weren't dressed or looking any different than anyone else there. Apps were priced pretty high anyway altho the entrees seemed more reasonable. Don't know if I'll bother trying it now.
