Serani's bakery in Orange, NJ

Jeremy Osner | Mar 12, 2005 09:11 PM

Today we followed a lead from the New Jersey section of the Times and went to Phil Serani's Sanitary Bakery, 144 S. Essex Ave. in Orange. Very nice place -- we got two breads: a semolina loaf, which has a nice flavor and a very delicate crumb, and a raisin bread called IIRC panettone, so tasty it is just about impossible to stop eating. The sweet pastries looked very interesting but we did not get any this time.
