I posted about our first time at Seoul Garden on a thread about local Korean restaurants a while back.. I think I reported that while the food and service was good, our waitress didn't speak much English, so it was difficult finding out about the menu choices.
Last night we had a free night (no kid), so my wife and I were trying to decide where to eat dinner. Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, drive in food, we couldn't decide. So as we drove we each made suggestions; Hale Vietnam, Pho 1, Jimbo, Hinone, Golden Duck, Mini Garden, Like Like. As we reached Kapiolani Blvd., we decided on Seoul Garden kind of on the spur of the moment.
Our waitress last night spoke a bit more, so we were able to ask some questions about what was on the menu. We decided on meat jun and boneless chicken. The meat jun was a generous serving, nicely cooked and some of the best we've ever had. The meat was tender and the egg batter was delicious, not fried to death like some places. The boneless bbq chicken came on a sizzling skillet, also a generous serving, piping hot and tasty. With rice, seaweed soup, and Seoul Gardens excellent kim chee side dishes, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Next time I think we'll try the kal bi and grilled fish or maybe the mixed bbq that many tables were having. This place is a keeper for us.
