Senor Fred was a hit

New to this board and wanted to post a quick review of Saturday nights meal at Senor Fred (Sherman Oaks).
Meet some friends and were promptly seated for our 6:30 reservation (a good idea if you want one of their cool booths). The atmosphere is very hip - dark red walls in the bar, very dim lighting in the dinning room and huge iron lanterns in the outdoor 'tent' area.
Started with a few drinks, a key lime martini which was good (not really a martini but...) and some guacamole for the table, it was fresh and mostly avacado with some added spice.
We ordered a ceaser salad, which had good flavor, and a house salad which was not a big hit. I think it was the dressing on the house salad - which someone commented tasted slightly like dirt.
All of the entres were above average. The carne asada plate was tender and flavorful, and had an interesting cactus salad side. Sea bass had a great mango salsa, and the carne asada tacos were good.
After reading a few reviews, we knew that the meal would be concluded with the hot chocolate - and it was fantastic. Thick, rich, and a hint of spice. The warm fresh cookies on the side were a bonus.

I will definately go back to try some of the other menu items and specials and what is supposed to be an excellente mole sauce.
