We tried Semolina last night. It is the new Italian restaurant right on the water (between Bay Cafe and Bo Brooks) that has housed a succession of failed restaurant endeavors (Yacht Club, etc.). It has been purchased by the same folks that own Louisiana and I think the future looks bright.
They aren't advertising at all while they get their staff in shape, but the place is worth a visit before it gets really busy. The menu is small, but they had a solid Caesar salad and both entrees were very good. I ordered off the menu (delicious vegetarian pasta dish) and David got one of the specials (chicken with carmelized onions, eggplant and parm). They had pizzas that looked good, but we didn't try any.
The prices are REALLY reasonable. The salad was $4 (and it was big enough to split). My dish was $11.95 and David's was $14.95. All of the entrees including seafood were under $20. And that's the dinner menu. My entree would have been $8 at lunch and the seafood dishes seemed to be around $12.
Has anyone else checked it out yet?
