Who would have expected a bbq joint to have high quality desserts?
I challenge anyone to find a better value for well made desserts within the area.
Been there a few times in the past 4 months (for the pulled pork sandwich and ribs), always left room for dessert.
For $6, a beautiful slice of lemon cheesecake, very light, proper balance of sweetness and tartness. Chocolate cheesecake was good too.
They have this "cake and shake", essentially a very chocolatey chocolate cake, with a whimsical vanilla milkshake on the side (made with REAL vanilla beans no less).
I guess it pays to have a talented pastry chef to be the wife of the owner/chef. I believe they both worked at Langdon Hall.
BTW, I was pleasantly surprised by the crab sandwich last week.... lots of crabmeat, little filler, nice remoulade sauce on the side. All for $9.
