Sel de la Terre - mediocrity redefined

Truffled mushroom soup - decent soup, but essence of truffle was very hard to find.

Crisp duck and frisee - average salad with duck so crispy it tasted more like bacon.

Steak frites - steak and frites bathed in rosemary or should I say drowning in rosemary (if that is possible). Steak just okay tasting.

Service was about the level that one would expect at a Bennigan's restaurant. Sometimes there, sometimes not. Not terrible, but also rather distracted and unprofessional.

For somewhat less in other parts of the Boston area you can have a much better meal than Sel de la Terre's all appetizers $12 and all entrees $24 approach to dining.

This place carries it's formulaic approach beyond pricing to it's food and service.
