I was wondering if anyone is aware of a source for sourdough starters in Toronto. I have been using a basic starter (I began with basic caked yeast) that has been producing decent results. However, I am now interested in expanding my horizons to more interesting sourdoughs.
I am primarily looking for the truly sour styles of the starter, especially an authentic San Francisco stater (i.e. Lactobacillus sanfrancisco (the bacteria) and Saccharomyces exiguus (the yeast)).
If anyone knows of a store, or perhaps a baking friend/aquaintance who might be kind enough to spare/sell a tiny bit of the starter I would be truly grateful.
