seeking restaurant recs during FEST

Hey Hounds.

I'm a Fest veteran but a NOLa visitor, who hasn't spent much time chowing anywhere else but the fairgrounds and obvious places like Uglesichs, Acme, Emerils, and a sushi place called Ninja #2 on my receipt that was fan-damn-tastic 3 years ago. As we get older, though, we spend more time on the chow.

First weekend we were smart enough to call ahead to Jaques-Imos on the first day we could, and got reservations for 10 at 8:15. Extra desirable not only for food but also for proximity to venue, the Leaf, next door.

But I've decided to stay on for second weekend, and I'll have 7 rookies with me. Any suggestions on what we could do without reservations for a good meal (most of 'em are staying uptown, on St. Charles) after a nice full fairgrounds day? Any place we might be able to get reservations still?

Any and all information is much, much appreciated.
