Does anyone have a recipe for *Korean* pickled garlic that does not use soy sauce?
I've been looking for such a recipe for a while. Most recipes I've seen use soy sauce. But when I get pickled garlic at the KoreaTown supermarket in Flushing, NY, it obviously has no soy sauce in it, and the garlic is nice and crisp.
Note: For those foodies who live in the NYC area, or who are planning on visiting NYC soon, Flushing is not to be missed! It's like being in part of SE ASia or Asia. And this Korean market is a wonderful, incredible place, with lots of interesting stuff at a salad bar, some barbecued foods, vegetables, etc.
