Hello TX hounds,
I'm a NY area hound attending a convention in Houston this June at the Brown Center and want to assemble a local restaurant tip sheet for my clients. I can't stand a lousy hotel breakfast buffet, or crappy dinner from a bad concierge tip, and don't want my clients to suffer the same fate.
I've been searching the board here but would be grateful for a few specific suggestions on these items:
Criteria: A short walk or cab ride from the convention center and major downtown hotels:
1) Good breakfasts. Cafe/Bakeries, Diners, Tex-Mex breakfasts, etc.
2) Good dinners. I want to give a couple of upscale business choices, and a couple of chowish casual spots including tex-mex, mexican and BBQ joints
3) After work drink spots, pubs, etc.
Also, even if it's a longer cab ride:
3) A couple of wildcards for the adventurous. Maybe an out-of-downtown BBQ joint, some local can't-miss spot in a neighborhood, etc.
Many thanks in advance if you can forward a few tips.
