Seeking Great Northern Indian in Manhattan

Allisondbl | Apr 2, 2002 04:31 PM

It's time for me to go try some new Indian restaurants. Akbar was my favorite and it closed quite a while ago in both locations in Manhattan. I recently went to Dawat and it was absolutely awful.

I need a Manhattan restaurant serving good Northern Indian cuisine: Chicken plain or tikka Biryani with nuts and raisins and saffron and a classic Chicken Tikka Masala and maybe a Chicken Korma. If there's also one that does brains I'd love that one too. The only ones I currently like are a classic hole-in-the-wall in Elmhurst and one in Montclair that is wonderful.

I need a fix in Manhattan and everything I've seen written about is vegetarian and Southern.

Help please, Thanks.
