Seeking "Blue Ginger"-type restaurant for parents' 35th anniversary

My parents are visiting this wknd, and I'd like to take them out for a belated anniversary people. They are pretty simple eaters, mainly Chinese food.. and generally adverse to anything too fancy (i.e., overpriced). My dad eats anything, but mother won't try anything other than Chinese, Thai and some Korean. They've recently expressed a desire to try the Ming Tsai restaurant in Wellesley, MA (where they live) Blue Ginger, but since I live here, I'm wondering if there is something comparable (cuisine, pricing) in Manhattan. I think, generally, they are not in to "fusion" b/c to them, it's just overpriced, and not significantly less tasty, Chinese food. I live in Gramercy, so something downtown is preferable, but I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks!
