Seeking Advice on Soda Stream Options

nemo | Nov 12, 201511:01 AM     4

I haven't seen any recent posts about Soda Stream (like within several years). We're pathetically late here. We're thinking about getting one to make seltzer water only.....not interested in the flavor packs. Older posts went with the glass carafes, but those can be purchased separately. Thinking to go with the Splash because it's the cheapest (but with a 3-year warranty whereas others only have 2-year, if that means anything), store in glass carafes, replace plastic bottles every two years. We go through a lot of seltzer, maybe 2 or 3 liters a day in summer months, less during winter.

Yeah, I know, must hand wash plastic bottles. Not a terrific issue. Does the aeration degrade the plastic bottles with usage? Is that why the replacement recommendation?

Thank you for any input!
