I will be in Manhattan for 5 days in December and have gotten a lot of great recommendations from this board. I have secured reservations at Aureole and Bouley. I tried to make reservations at Babbo for Friday night(my birthday). When I called, they said I had to call no earlier than 1 month to the date and that the reservation line openned at 10am. So yesterday I dutifully phoned and it was 1pm before I could finally get thru. Of course by then they were booked for all the best times. I had the option of 5pm or 10:45pm. So I decided to try again for Saturday night instead. I have been redialing like crazy, but get a steady busy signal. Am I missing something? Is there an easier way. I know it's a busy time of year and the weekend is the most popular, but STILL! I know some restaurants allow you to make reservations thru a service, but Babbo apparently does not. If you have any tips or tricks, I'd be elated to hear them.
