I'm reluctant to ask so elementary a question, but from 3000 miles away it's hard to know when things like lobsters, clams and anything else is in season in New England. I've been told that lobstermen work as long as the seas permit, and that even after that point lobster pounds keep everyone happy. However, reading various postings suggests that many (most?)stands and less formal eating places are also seasonal, and that when the summer folk go, they close up.
Can anyone suggest what a traveller will find in mid to late October along the Maine, Massachusetts and Connecticut shore?
