Seasoning Cast Iron Handles on Copper Cookware

I just received a four sauce pan set from the folks at Rocky Mountain Retinning. The pans are tin-lined copper with cast iron handles, and I am wondering about seasoning the handles. Should I coat the handles with oil and place the pans in the oven on a temp at or below 350 for a few hours, or should I just apply a light coat the first few times I use each and let the cooking do the seasoning?
