i want to wow my brother's SF bay area roommates with a thank you while i'm here--preferably one that won't require too much heavy-duty clean-up or extensive ingredients. little or no dairy or eggs preferably.
i bought some bars of dark dagoba chocolate this morning at the elephant pharmacy and there's some leftover red wine. so i am thinking of making a cake using both of these. maybe keeping the chocolate in chunks. alternatively, i had an awesome chocolate zuke cake the other day too from a recipe from a cafe in victoria BC but forgot to get the recipe.
adding pecans struck me as a nice idea. but what would be a seasonal addition?
