We needed a breath of fresh spring air so traveled Sat 3/29 to Durham for the home and garden show. The highlight of the show was Meet the Chefs, an opportunity to watch some great cooking demonstrations. Chef Karl Mace from Union Bluff Hotel in York ME cooked veal, veal cheeks with purple sweet potatos, and veal sweetbreads. Never had sweetbreads before but will definitely order sometime. The second was Sous Chef Emily Marcus from Three Chimneys Inn in Durham. Great pan-seared duck breast with sauted julienned vegetables. Both restaurants represented sounded great. I think we'll definitely try the Union Bluff Hotel for an off-season weekend getaway. Prices sounded very reasonable. Has anyone else dined at either place ?
