Ever since a return visit to Changsha this past summer with my adopted daughter, I have been dreaming about this one particular outstanding dish we had. I am hoping that someone on this board will recognize the attached picture and point us toward one of the seemingly limitless Chinese restaurants in SGV - or anywhere within driving distance for that matter - that offers something similar.
The meal was served hot-pot style. (Assuming it was translated correctly), it featured silver carp, simmered (braised?) with red chili peppers, onion, chive (scallion?) and the most fragrant broth imaginable. The carp was incredibly moist and flavorful - really some of the best fish I've ever had.
If anyone recognizes this dish and can tell me where I can find it locally or get a recipe for it (not possible at the restaurant; no one spoke English), it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
