About a week ago, I posted on the not about food board asking what I should know as a newcomer to Chicago from Boston. Thanks for the help so far, eveyone!
Anyway, we're flying in this Thursday (and staying til Monday) to look for an apartment and of course we'll need to eat. We're staying with a friend on North Harbor Drive, but want to look in neighborhoods like Logan Sq., Andersonville and Ukrainian village etc. We've never been to Chicago before.
So, help us fall in love! So far these are our chow plans:
We want to have one expensive celebratory dinner, like New American or French food
We want to have lunch on the run, as we're going through neighborhoods. We will eat any cuisine, and want to spend about 10-20 bucks per lunch
We want to take our friend out for dinner and he's a steak and potato man, and a student and so he won't want us to spend a lot of money
Is there anything we shouldn't miss? *Something* we should know about hotdogs? :)
Any last minute help or things we should know about neighborhoods and renting an apartment?
Thanks so much!
