SEA Japanese recommendations for birthday

bk | Aug 5, 200505:09 PM

I'm looking to go out in Seattle for my birthday in a couple weeks. I'd like to go to a Japanese restaurant. It will be 8 of us, some newer to the cuisine than others. I'd like decent sushi, and I am fairly adventurous, but it can't be too expenisive. Some people thought it could be fun to have a tatami room, but which restaurants have those?

I'm looking for somewhere fun for a group, that has good food but not outrageous prices. Closer to downtown is preferable, but if its worth it we are willing to go within a reasonable distance. What kind of suggestions do you have for me?
