I had the good fortune to score a window couch-seat at Per Se, last night. My friend & I enjoyed our specialty cocktails (one "Per Se cocktail" and one "ODE to Eau") and then proceeded to inhale the yuzu-flavored buttered popcorn and jumbo hot Carolina peanuts. At $17 per drink, it was a wee bit painful to drain the glass, but I managed.
Brian, the bar-chef, was extraordinarily knowledgeable about the restaurant, the food, the drinks, etc. and I'm pleased to report that he's been dabbling with some house-pickled veggies, like okra and green tomatoes (not tomolives . . . better!).
I was also provided with a copy of last night's menu . . . With such profoundly excellent service at the *bar*, it makes me even more interested in dining at the restaurant.
