Sister in law came into town and wanted to return to a little pizza place she and her husband used to go to when they were college students. 33rd and El Cajon is not my favorite area--I used to teach just a few blocks away. I passed this nondescript little eatery a thousand times, and never seriously considered eating there.
Well, I was in for a surprise. The same family has been making their pizza there since 1954. It's still in business for a reason. Yeasty dough, plenty of mozerella and heavenly homemade italian sausage. I even enjoyed the carafe of house chianti. I'll be back, as Arnold used to say!
