My last trip into the city I decided to try Convoy Tofu House again--I went there shortly after they opened years ago and had trouble parking and thought the food wasn't quite as good as Balboa Tofu House. But so many postings on this board have mentioned the Convoy Tofu House positively that I decided it was worth trying again, and I'm glad I did. While they don't offer quite the range of tofu choices, they certainly had enough. I had the fish egg tofu soup and it was very good, as was the ban chan. I noticed that they seemed to have a wider range of non-soontofu choices there than the Balboa Tofu House. I have gone to Balboa with people who weren't into tofu and they were disappointed by the chicken bulgogi and gyoza. Has anyone tried the non-tofu dishes at Convoy?
I also have tried Do-Re-Me, and it was fine, though I didn't think the black cod dish there was as transcendent as the same dish at Seoul BBQ, but that is tough competition. Does anyone have favorite dishes at Do-Re-Me?
A few postings here have also mentioned Arirang favorably. A few years ago I went to their lunch buffet a couple times and was completely unimpressed. Clearly I missed something. What's good there?
I also noticed a Korean place I haven't tried or read about here. It had a name like the Boo-Hoo (?) and it was on one of the little side streets about a block east of Convoy. Has anyone tried it?
